The Going Price

Affiliate disclosure

The Going Price participates in the eBay Partner Network. If you click through to eBay from this site and buy something, we may earn a commission — at no extra cost to you. The price you pay is the seller’s price either way.

Which links are affiliate links

Assume all of them are. Every link that leaves this site for eBay.com — the listing rows, the highlighted picks, and the “more on eBay” links under each price band — carries our affiliate tracking. They are marked in the page source with rel="sponsored nofollow", which is how a search engine is told the same thing.

What the commission does not buy

It does not choose the listings. The grid under each guide is whatever eBay’s API returns for that search, in the order it returns them. We do not reorder by commission, we do not drop listings, and we do not favour particular sellers.

It does not choose the highlights. The three picks above the grid are computed — lowest price, closest to typical, best condition — from the same trimmed sample used for the price statistics.

It does not write the guides. The price bands, condition advice, and warnings come from the listing data. A guide will tell you when a market is thin, when the spread is wide enough that the median means little, or when a condition tier is not worth paying for.

We do not accept payment from sellers or brands for coverage, placement, or a kinder write-up. There is no arrangement under which anyone can buy their way into a guide.

What we do not do

We do not test, handle, own, or photograph any product on this site, and no guide claims otherwise. Product images and listing titles are the sellers’, served from eBay.
